Of Summer and Home

Me handling barn swallow

My thoroughbred, Queen

Hey guys, these obviously aren't photographs from winter, but rather this past summer. My barn was one of my greatest artistic inspirations. I used to photography my horses almost daily, sadly the had to be sold when I came to college and I return home to an empty barn. At least come summer the birds will come back. I adore those ridiculous barn swallows. They are persistent to the point of stupidity but I love it. Knock down their nests from the rafters and the rebuild them. Barn cats? Who cares. The reason I get the privilege of holding them is that occasionally they fly into the windows and can't seem to fathom that the clear glass is in fact a solid. I help the little guys out of the pane and set them free. There's not much like holding a wild bird, even for a short moment.
